The Accademia del Tiramisù (founded on 12 April 2011) is a cultural and food and wine association, inspired by the principles of historical, cultural and gastronomic information. Its aim is to disseminate the true geographic origins and the authentic ingredients for the traditional recipe.

The origin of the word Tiramisù is simple and intuitive:TIRA-MI-SU’, the Italian for “pick me up”.
The original name for this exquisite dessert comes from the dialect of Veneto, where it was known as “Tiremesù”, which in Italian, became “Tiramisù”.
According to traditional Veneto history, Treviso is the birthplace of Tiramisù and it is from this cradle that it spread first throughout Italy and then the world. Oral and written traditions have handed down information about it since 1800.
The Mission of the Accademia del Tiramisu and its website is to disseminate information about Tiramisù Made in Italy and Made in Treviso.
